GOOD DAY FOR A STORY

Jeanne Moseley's stories about growing up in Waxahachie during the 1950s and 1960s, and other good things.

  NOW AN E-BOOK

These stories were written in 2000-2001 and posted one-by-one on the Web in those years, under the title "A Good Day for a Story." The material was reprocessed in December 2011 to reflect current-day media preferences.

Format 1-- Click here! (any computer device)

This is an html e-book, formatted for easy viewing on iPhones, iPads and similar devices. It is also viewable on your desktop computer's browser. But who wants to read a book sitting in front of a table-top computer screen? Get a cup of hot chocolate, take your smart phone to your easy chair, and enjoy!

Format 2-- Click here! (iPhone, iPad etc. only)

This is a standard epub format ebook, which will be played by one of the book apps on your smartphone or pad device.

Tap the curving arrow icon for a menu, and choose to open the book with iBooks or Stanza. See Tip #2 below. The book contains some color photos, in addition to the words, and more photos may be added later when they become available from the author.

SOME EBOOK TIPS:

(1) With the html ebook page on your screen, note the little curved arrow at the bottom or top of the page, and tap it for a menu. Then choose ADD TO HOME SCREEN. It lets you pick a name for the item, you click Save, and it puts an icon on your iPhone/iPad screen just like an app! Very handy for this and any web page you visit regularly.

(2) With recent improvements, Apple's iBooks app is a solid performer with any standard epub format ebook. On an iPad, view the ebook on iBooks in horizontal mode, which presents a two-page book view, very pleasing -- especially when there are photos. Also get the Stanza free app as your second, stand-by book reader. Stanza gives you ability right in the app to see white on black, which many like, but iBooks does not, though it can give you sepia. You may well prefer using the Stanza app on iPhones though -- more readable on the small screen.
